More than 6000 full pages of unique, user-updated content and sophisticated search technology can be seamlessly integrated into your website, providing rich content for stakeholder engagement, destination promotion, social media and newsletter marketing campaigns. That includes the largest online guides for arts, events, travel and lifestyle in WA!

What are the Scoop Guides?

ScoopWEB maintains a free, user-updated community database including 5 directories, 30 guides and 6000 profiles. These guides are seamlessly integrated into ScoopWEB and also available via content licensing, providing your site with sophisticated search technology and rich content.

Personalising content for your website

You can select any or all of the guides to display on your website. Guides can be limited to specific geographic regions, defined by region, sub-region, towns & suburbs. A simple opt-out function allows you to exclude specific listings, a common requirement for membership-based organisations.

Providing quality-controlled content

The Scoop Guides are free and updated daily. Any business or member of the public can register online. Content is user-updated via login and password. Content-management systems include a monthly email and auto-archiving. All new listings are checked and approved by the Scoop Content Management Team.

Advanced search functionality producing rich, unique content

Faceted search functionality, database design and caching strategies allows for complex searches and ensures results can be returned within seconds. Tree-based location searches allows the user to search by town, suburb, region and state.

Sophisticated Google map overlays

Sophisticated Google map integration provides the ability to search the maps, review listings on the maps, link to full page profiles and view multiple listings in a single destination. A GPS over-ride is available when location does not match address.

Content in 81 languages

Search results and menus are all translated into 81 languages, providing easy access and navigation for all nationalities. Menus and other content are being systematically reviewed and modified by translators to ensure the Google Translator errors are being corrected.

Building online portfolios with related links

Relationship links (parent/child links) make it possible to connect listings and provides for easy navigation between events and venues or arts organisations; products with retailers; architects with projects; hotels with cafes and restaurants.

Turning external links off and on

To prevent losing traffic from your site, external hyperlinks including booking online, social media and web links can be turned off. Or, if promoting your stakeholders is the objective, let them link to your stakeholders’ websites and be recognised for the value you create.

Creating new distribution channels for your members

Relevant content added to the Scoop Online Guides will appear on your website and multiple third-party websites. This provides a new content-distribution channel where the content you add will reach users on multiple websites around WA.

Social media, newsletter and marketing campaigns

In addition to adding rich content to your website, Listing Content can be used for social media and newsletter marketing campaigns, providing new reasons to engage with your stakeholders, promoting your local destination, industry and other local assets.

How does it work?

Content can be fully integrated into your ScoopWEB website, or licensed to 3rd party websites using iframes, WordPress widget or web services. For ScoopWEB websites, the licensing cost is part of the monthly ‘hosting, maintenance and licensing’ fee. The cost for 3rd party applications will be on application.
