Hosting, Maintenance, Performance-Management

ScoopWEB charges a monthly fee for Hosting, Maintenance, Performance-management. This includes everything required for us to keep your website operating at peak-performance. When software updates, we update it. If your website breaks, we fix it. When new technology comes along, we integrate it. No nasty surprises. No time required. No unexpected invoices. Total peace of mind!

How much does it cost?

The monthly fee depends upon the complexity of your website, with a minimum fee of $150+gst per month. It includes hosting, but does not include additional licensing costs for additional third-party software, such as Mailchimp, Shopify, booking systems and payment gateways.

What does it include?

Web performance and design is as much art as it is science. No website will work perfectly across the endless combinations of browsers, browser versions and device types. And what works perfectly today will not necessarily be working perfectly tomorrow. Tasks required to keep your website secure and operating at peak performance include: hosting, maintenance, security patches, software updates, updating manuals and online tutorials, multiple redundancies, daily backups, testing across popular browsers and devices, integration of new technology (plugins, apps), maintenance of Scoop content, performance-related support requests only.

Manuals / Online Guides

Detailed manuals and online tutorials are made available, providing basic to advanced instructions for site design, build and maintenance. If required, a personalised manual will be provided outlining processes related specifically to your website. This assists with training and support when the web manager leaves or is unavailable for any reason. Information regarding new technology and marketing opportunities, newly integrated design themes, upgrades and apps will be communicated by newsletter.

If you elect to have no pre-paid support package, ScoopWEB will still respond to minor queries and support requests in relation to web performance and other critical issues. However, queries related to training, design, development and other more complex issues will require a pre-paid support package.

Consulting, Design, Development, Content Services

Pre-paid support packages are for clients requiring additional on-going services including consulting, design, development and assistance with content. Support packages provide your web manager and team with someone to call while still training and learning more complex tasks, so daily tasks are not held up.

How much does it cost?
Support packages are available in five and ten hour blocks, based on the standard-support rate. The hourly rate depends upon the time of service required. In the event that less than one hour of your support package is remaining, you will be notified and provided with the opportunity to purchase an additional package.
Design and Development
Your website is designed to allow for growth and integration of new features. Larger projects requiring more than five or ten hours can be quoted separately and provided at a fixed rate.
If your Web Manager has web and/or WordPress experience, they will require little to no training, but should be able to rely on the manuals and tutorials provided. Non-technical users with basic computer and web experience should be able to update content and make minor changes with as little as three to five hours in training. Training can be done in-house or via Skype.
Content and Process Management
While many clients wish to maintain their own content and manage their own processes, some clients will elect to have this managed by the ScoopWEB support team. As the ScoopWEB team is professionally trained and closely supervised, outsourcing can prove to be a more cost-effective solution.

For training and on-going reference, we have created the ScoopWEB Manuals below. For more advanced training, online tutorials on Divi and WordPress can be found below.

Manual 1: Getting Started
Manual 1 provides details on how to use ScoopWEB and where to find additional manuals and training material. It is also the agenda we use for basic training and a useful reference guide for your web team and/or manager. For a reasonable tech-savvy user, a three to five hour training session should enable you to upload and manage content, change menus, create pages and implement simple design changes. If you have previous experience using WordPress you should be up and running even quicker.

Manual 2: Licensing the Scoop guides
Manual 2 outlines your options for displaying the Scoop Guides on your ScoopWEB website. If you are not integrating the ScoopGUIDES into your website, this is not for you. It covers three different areas of operations:

  1. GUIDE SETUP: Selecting guide type, colours, fonts, links, language translation and search features using the Licensing Admin System (controlled by Scoop).
  2. WORDPRESS DESIGN: Title and text at the top of the page, background images etc using WordPress.
  3. LISTINGS’ MANAGEMENT: Creating and managing your own listings and filtering out third-party listings using the ScoopGUIDES User Admin.

Manual 3: Content & Media Basics
Manual 3 provides a guideline and recommended software for preparing, managing and uploading images and text to your ScoopGUIDES listing and ScoopWEB website. High-quality content is critical to the success of your website. Image management and copywriting are difficult skills and best handled by suitably qualified professionals. However, for those that wish to manage content themselves, this will prove useful for achieving the best results with your available resources.

Manual 4: Managing ScoopGUIDES Listings
Manual 4 explains how the ScoopGUIDES work, how to get the best result when creating your listings, as well as defining each of the guides to ensure you are creating your listing(s) in the right place. This is important as there are now five directories, more than 30 guides and 6,000 full page listing profiles. This manual is also for public users who want to create a listing on the ScoopGUIDES community network, even if they don’t have a ScoopGUIDES website.
